Using a sourcing agent is very beneficial when importing manufactured products. A sourcing agent can solve problems quickly, give you peace of mind, and simplify the import process by taking care of all the details of product sourcing.
Let a sourcing agent help you with a positive experience in your importing.
Provide Details to Your Sourcing Agent
Sourcing agents ask questions and collect as much information as possible so they can get all the details to help you in the best way. Your sourcing agent needs to know your time frame so they can explain everything that needs to happen before it can be completed. The more information you can give about what’s important about your product, the better. If a particular certification needs to be passed, your sourcing agent needs to know beforehand in order to guide you in the best possible way.
The more information you have about your project, the faster and easier you can receive a quoted price. If you feel uncomfortable sharing product details, ask them to sign an NDA for more security. You should be happy to sign one.
Be Realistic in Your Expectations
Many companies source products in China because of the cost efficiency involved. Your sourcing agent should be able to help you get much of what you are looking for.
What we strive for at Global Trade Specialists is quality work on your parts, cost effective pricing, inspection and handling of the shipment.
Give Yourself Time
If you are shipping by sea it may take 4-6 weeks to arrive. Most of the factories in China do not stockpile parts. In other words, every order means the factory must order the material first in order to work on your parts. Your order will be placed on a waiting list depending on when the order comes in. If they are very busy your order may take some time to start. An order for a new part may include work on tools or molds that must be done before manufacturing begins.
It is important that you give yourself enough time to order in advance. One shouldn’t put pressure on factories to expedite orders. When a factory specifies a time to manufacture a product, it must ensure that it has the time to do so properly and according to specifications.
You can also save a lot of money and time making sure your designs are completed and prototyped before moving on to manufacturing. Reworking molds or tools during a manufacturing job can be costly.
Our experienced sourcing agents will be happy to help you.
